Altered Sephora Gift Box

My wonderful husband gave me perfume for Christmas from Sephora.  The perfume came in a nice gift box.  The box was sturdy and a nice size.  It also had a hinged lid with velcro on it.  A DIY project in the making!
Materials:  Box, 12 x 12 scrapbook paper, scissors, Modge Podge, paint brush to apply the Modge Podge, and a flower embellishment.
I rather liked the black and white stripes on two sides of the box, so I opted to leave them as they were.  The scrapbook paper was cut to the  measurements of the top and sides of the box.  A coat of Modge Podge was added, and the paper was put in place.  I layered Modge Podge over the top of the scrapbook paper.
The paper contrasts beautifully with the black and white stripes.
The inside of the box is a glossy black. To add a little interest,  I added a piece of scrap paper cut to echo the curve on the top flap.
Finally, the box was embellished with a silk flower that I had in my stash.  I think that it came from Hobby Lobby.
This project was simple and quick to do.  I will use the box to put notecards and envelopes in.

Sticky Note Holder

How cute is this?  I knew it was extra adorable when my daughter came over and sighed, "Awwwww."

This is a sticky note holder I made for my desk at school. It would make a great gift for a teacher or office worker and can be customized for the recipient.   Super easy and quick.
I made the sticky note holder with a plastic frame from the dollar store.  I used double sided scrap book paper from my stash and a few embellishments I picked up at Hobby Lobby.
It's pretty obvious how to put the holder together.  I cut the scrap paper to fit, using the paper that had been in the frame as a template.  The frog embellishment is dimensional, so it went right on the front of the frame itself.  The sticky notes were stuck on the front, as well.  The paper can be changed seasonally.
It is currently on my desk at school and the students love it.  It adds a touch of whimsey and fun to my day.

Believe Notebook

I elevated a plain black moleskin notebook into a fun place to record notes about my word for the year, "Believe."
I love moleskin notebooks.  I had a package of three 3.5 x 5.5 inch notebooks in black.  They are a convenient place to jot down ideas, sketches, and to do lists.  I usually have one tucked into my purse.  But for my word for the year, I wanted something with a little more personality. So I transformed one of them.  I delved into my scrapbook paper stash and found a paper with selected verses on it from the Bible.  I cut it to the size of the outside of the cover and modpodged it on.  Then I embellished with a stamp in blue chalk ink.  The words, "to Believe is to have Faith," are a sticker.  I also added the butterfly.  Everything was topped with another layer of modpodge.  When the modpodge dried the cover curled a little bit.  I tucked it under a heavy book and it straightened right out.
Decorating my notebook was quick and easy with materials that I already had on hand.  I've already begun to fill my notebook with ideas.
Do you use moleskin notebooks?  Have you ever decorated one?
