One Little Word: September

A single word to frame your year is a powerful thing.  On the first of the month a group of students from the One Little Word class at Big Picture Classes with Ali Edwards share our monthly assignments on our blogs.  It is a wonderful way to stay inspired with our words.
The word that chose me for 2012 is "Dwell."  Dwell means to remain, to live or continue, to abide, to linger over, to keep the attention directed, and to reside.  It is a place of rest.  It is a special place.
My word dwell or its synonym continues to pop up in unexpected places.  When I saw this sign on sale at Hobby Lobby I knew that it had to come home with me.  It is displayed on our front porch.  It says, "In our home let love abide (dwell), and bless all those who step inside."
The assignment for the month of August was to take a breath, take a photo of ourselves, and add a few positive words to remind us of our journey.  I so much prefer to be on the back side of a camera that I decided to take a picture at an upcoming family wedding.  You know, when my hair would be done and my makeup on, and I look as good as it gets.  I completely forgot that the wedding is September 2 - the day after I was due to post this.  So in the spirit of fun, I will share two other pictures.
My niece,  Susie, took a picture of me with this sign when we were on a shopping trip in Pennsylvania.  Somehow, I don't think these were the words of affirmation that Ali had in mind.
This picture is of my husband and myself, our six kids, our daughter-in-law, two nieces, my sister-in-law and our dog.  My brother was the photographer.  The occasion was a fun filled evening when all of my children were home.  My son, James, and his wife were visiting from Georgia.  Brian came from upstate New York.  I am surrounded by laughing family - right where I like to dwell.
Here is the list of Blog Hop participants.  Visit them and share the fun.
