When I saw the prompt Cabin Fever, I was immediately reminded of these great cabins in Pennsylvania near where we go camping each summer. There are about a dozen of them set in the woods. Some are obviously loved and well cared for. Isn't this one gorgeous?Others, like this one, have clearly been left idle. Those are ferns and moss growing on the roof. Still the cabins are quite beautiful and stir the imagination. Wouldn't you like to sit in a rocking chair by the hearth and dream? Still the cabins pictures were taken last summer. I needed to settle on a photo for this week. I didn't want to
Lacking my own personal cabin and a great shot of the heron, I decided to take a picture of a bird house my brother gave me for Christmas. It is adorable. There are curtains in the windows and even a little chair on the front porch. I can pretend it is my little cabin in the woods. I like the rough texture of the bark, the dried leaves and the soft pine boughs against the cheery splashes of red. If I were a bird, I would live here.
LORD, I love the house where you live,
the place where your glory dwells. Psalm 26: 8
